Ernesto San-Blas is an Associate Professor at the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific research and head of the Vegetal Protection lab. He has worked on biological and ecological aspects of entomopathogenic nematodes, and their use as biological control agents in tropical systems. More recently he has studied the use of infrared technology as a tool for nematological issues. Apart from his research, he was a co-founder and is currently President of the Venezuelan Society of Nematology. He was elected Vice-president of the International Federation of Nematological Societies in 2014 and is the chair of the scientific program of this congress.
